Our History
Home Assist Medical Equipment, Inc. is owned and operated by Andy and Leigh Ingram, residents of Laurinburg, NC. Andy, a life-long resident of Laurinburg, has seen the needs of area residents change over the years. A baby boomer himself, he knows that many patients in need of healthcare will require it in their homes and it is for this reason that he started his business.
Home Assist began as a part of The Medicine Shoppe of Laurinburg in 1995. From a small corner in the pharmacy with one employee, it grew to occupy a house next door in 1997 as Home Assist Medical Equipment, Inc. Now, with over 10 employees, Home Assist moved to its present 7200 square foot facility at 609 E. Lauchwood Drive in Laurinburg in December 2003.
We take extra care in making sure that we fulfill the medical product needs of each and every one of our customers.
Home Assist Medical Equipment, Inc is the place to go when you need home medical equipment like oxygen, lift chairs, incontinence products, wheelchairs, hospital beds and diabetic shoes. We also carry a full line of uniforms for those who work in healthcare. You can count on our highly trained staff
Our qualified staff includes a Registered Respiratory Therapist, a Certified Orthotic Fitter, three Certified Fitters of Therapeutic Shoes and two Certified Mastectomy Fitters.
Our Certified Fitters are members of either the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC) or the Board for Orthotist/Prosthetist Certification (BOC) or both.
At Home Assist Medical Equipment, Inc, we have over 30 years combined experience in healthcare, care giving and meeting the needs of those who need home medical equipment and services. Our standards require each of our associates to receive 40 hours of continuing education annually.
